The iPhone has motion-sensing too
Apple’s announcement of the iPhone today pretty much drowned out most of the other new product announcements at CES. But one area that we’ve not seen too much focus on yet is the motion-sensing aspects that the new device includes. In addition to the new “multi-touch” interface for finger tip, onscreen control of apps and services, the iPhone includes motion sensors which will activate various features, such as automatic screen dimming and “lock” when the phone is lifted to the face for phone calls, and automatic portrait/landscape switching of the display depending upon the orientation of the screen.
Apple’s got a short bit of info on the sensor within the iPhone here. Wired’s coverage of the launch can be found here.
